Lakatos Vladimir
Vladimir Lakatos studied violin in his native country Romania, gained artistic and teaching
diplomas at the National University of Music in Bucharest and was a member of the
George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra (Bucharest). He is the prize-winner of the String
Quartet Competition in Evian. He has also undertaken numerous engagements at the
Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Munich Philharmonic. Since 1985 he has been a
violin teacher at the Swabian Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Bavarian State Youth
Orchestra, and since 2003, a chamber music teacher at Academia Sighișoara (Romania).
Lakatos Vladimir is a founder member of the Festival for Chamber Music Prats-de-Carlux.
He had numerous appearances and performed with well-known artists at Academia
Sighișoara: Alexandru Gavrilovici (violin, Bern), Cordelia Höfer (piano, Mozarteum
Salzburg), Diana Kettler (piano, London), Götz Teutsch (cello, Berlin Philharmonic), Imre
Rohmann (piano, Mozarteum Salzburg), Cristian Petrescu (piano, Berlin/Recklinghausen).
