Irina Gavrilovici
Born and educated in Romania, Irina Gavrilovici studied piano and singing in Bucharest, the latter under L. Boicescu Grozovskaja, who taught her in the tradition of Italian school. Irina Gavrilovici was lecturer at the singing department of the Music Academy in Bucharest. In 1986 she emigrated to Austria and became one of the most sought after singing professors worldwide. From 1997 to 2000 Irina Gavrilovici had been the vocal coach of the National Latvian Opera in Riga. Since 2000 she has been the vocal coach of the Finnish National Opera soloists in Helsinki. At the Fifth International Congress of Singing Teachers in 2000, Irina gave expert demonstrations of teaching methods in front of an eminent audience including Birgit Nilson. She gives master courses in Austria, Latvia, Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, Russia, Romania etc.
