Horváth Edit
Pianist Horváth Edit was born in 1973 in Târgu- Mureș. She graduated from the „Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj, in the class of professor Adriana Bera. During her studies, she participated in master classes held by Robert D. Levin (SUA), Rolf Dieter-Arens (Weimer), Voces Quartet, David Ward (London), Arcadii Sevidov (Moscow), Gérard Frémy (Paris) and Gabriel Amiraș (Trossingen). She also participated in the International Bartók Workshop in Szombathely (Hungary), where she worked with professors Pierre Laurant Aimard (Paris) and Rohmann Imre (Salzburg), as well as in the International Kodály Classes in Hungary, where she worked with Kiss Gyula.
After her graduation from the Music Academy in Cluj, she continued her studies at the European Mozart Academy in Warsaw, focusing on a chamber repertoire with professors Aurèle Nicolét, Rohmann Imre, Vassily Lobanov, Alexander Satz, Pnina Salzmann, Sergiu Luca, Michel Lethiec, Grigori Zhyslin, Sara Laimon, Heidi Litschauer, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Colin Carr.
She performed in numerous concerts and recitals both in Romania and abroad (Warsaw, Cracow, Prague, Sofia, Skopje, Hungary). As a soloist she performed with philarmonic orchestras from Târgu-Mureș, Cluj, Oradea, Sibiu, the „Diletto Musicale” Chamber Music Orchestra of the Music Academy in Cluj. Horváth Edit took part at international competitions such as Costantin Silvestri Competition form Târgu-Mureș, Albert Roussel Competition from Sofia, European Piano Contest Bremen, and won prizes at Mozart Competiton from Cluj (1994) and at Hungarian Music Festival at the Cultural Centre of the Hungarian Republic in Bucharest (2009).
She is a Lecturer and piano teacher at the „Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj where she obtained in 2010 the title Doctor in Music with the thesis Joseph Haydn’s Keyboard Music.
